Overview

Massapoag Pond is a 122-acre great pond, an impoundment of Salmon Brook, about 1.5 miles southwest of Dunstable Center. It touches Dunstable, Tyngsborough and Groton. It averages 12 feet deep with a 40-foot maximum, and aquatic plants grow thickly only in the shallow south end.

Fishing

MassWildlife says Massapoag is a popular trout destination in early spring, but focus soon turns to warmwater fish. It's best known for largemouth bass, pickerel and abundant yellow perch, and it has produced largemouth bass big enough for Freshwater Sportfishing Awards recognition. It's stocked with trout each spring.

Species

MassWildlife surveys found largemouth bass, chain pickerel, black crappie, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, bluegill, golden shiner and American eel. Stocked trout are added in spring.

Seasons
