Overview

Lake Quannapowitt, also called Quannapowitt Reservoir, is a shallow, fertile 254-acre lake within a quarter mile of Route 128 in Wakefield. It averages 6 feet deep (11 ft max) over gravel and mud, and the water is murky, with about 4 feet of visibility. Most weeds grow in the marshy shallows on the west and north sides. Homes, a cemetery and businesses share the shoreline.
