Overview

Covering 245 acres, Lake Pearl is a great pond fed by Eagle Brook, in Wrentham, a quarter mile below Route 140. It is busy year-round, with heavy boat traffic in spring and summer. The lake averages 13.5 feet deep (39 ft max), with 8-10 feet of visibility over sand, cobble and muck. Weeds grow along the shore and in the shallows, and seasonal and year-round homes are scattered around it.

Fishing

Lake Pearl is an ice angler's lake. Trophy chain pickerel come through the ice fairly often, along with good catches of perch and bass. Big largemouth are rare, but the lake has produced 5-7 pound fish, usually in the evening during late summer, though a few have come through the ice. Award-size largemouth bass and chain pickerel are on record.

Species

MassWildlife surveys found largemouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow and panfish such as black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed and white perch; brown bullhead; and American eel.

Ice fishing

Ice anglers catch trophy chain pickerel here relatively often and report good perch and bass catches; a few of the lake's rare 5-7 lb bass came through the ice.
