Overview
Lake of the Ozarks was created in 1931 when Bagnell Dam impounded the Osage River in south-central Missouri. It covers about 54,000 acres with about 1,150 miles of shoreline.
Fishing
Crappie are a main draw, with white crappie more abundant and black crappie more common in clearer water. In spring, fish creek channels in the bays. In late spring and fall, work brush piles on or near points with small jigs and minnows. MDC has added brush piles, including in the Gravois arm.
